RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 4 3 -. 3 2-8 authorizing the submittal of the Non-Discreti
Household Hazardous Waste Grant application and authorizing the UGt
Maintenance Director to execute any subsequent agreements, contracts, and ref
for payment.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Approximately $4 million in funding is available through the California Inte
Waste Management Board (CNVMB) to reimburse cities, counties, and local ag
for direct costs of Household Hazardous Waste programs incurred during fisc:
1992-93. The non-competitive Household Hazardous Waste Non-Discretionary
are awarded on a per capita basis, or reimbursement of actual program costs, wli
is lower. The grant application deadline is December 17, 1993.
The estimated per capita award is unknown at this time, as it is calculated based
number of applications received. However, in no case would the award be high1
the FY 1992-93 actual program costs of $4,648.75. This includes the costs of annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events, the poaion of the 'Was newsletter devoted to HHW, and a "Take 5" video produced for Daniel's Cable
FISCAL IMPACX:
The estimated revenue to the Solid Waste Enterprise fund from this grant a
$4,648.75. Funds will be paid to the City upon submittal of invoices to the C
