PCH FIREFIGHTER’S PROTECTIVE CLOTHING CITY M( RECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends Council adopt Resolution No. Y 3 - 33 a , awarding the b firefighter’s protective clothing for the period January I, 1994 through December 31 with the option to renew each contract for three (3) additional one (1) year periods. ITEM EXPLANATION The City of Carlsbad has been the lead agency in the cooperalive bids for firel protective clothing for several years. In 1990 a contract was awarded for protective c for one year with the option to renew for two additional one year periods. At that time 1 of Carlsbad and twenty-seven County agencies participated in the cooperative bid. During the three years of the original contract, many other public agencies expressed i in participating in the new cooperative bid. A total of sixty public agencies will share new bid award and be able to take advantage of purchasing in volume. In accordan Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders was published and Reqi Bids was sent to seventeen vendors. Eight bids were opened, witnessed, and recor November 12, 1993. The lowest, most responsive bid for Heavy Duty Eye Goggle Retainer, V Firefighting Cap Style Helmet with Shroud and the Wildland Firefighi Style Helmet with Shroud was submitted by Wajax Pacific Fire Equipmei Mills Ave, La Crescenta CA 91 21 4.
