FNG RECOMMENDED ACTION: RAILROAD PARKING LOT TO ROOSEVELT STREET Introduce Ordinance No. NS - &!& 5 amending the Carlsbad Municipal Co designate a TWO-HOUR PARKING zone on each side of Oak Avenue from the ra parking lot easterly to Roosevelt Street between the hours of 7:OO a.m. and 6:OC except for Sundays and holidays. ITEM EXPLANATION: The Engineering Department received a request from some merchants located i vicinity of the State Street/Oak Avenue intersection requesting that a TWO4 PARKING zone be established on a portion of Oak Avenue. The purpose for the re was to provide a turnover of on-street parking for customers of the nearby business State Street and on Oak Avenue. This matter was discussed by the Traffic Safety Commission at their meeting of Novc 1,1993. By a 4-0 vote, the Commission recommended that a TWO-HOUR PARKINC be established on each side of Oak Avenue from the railroad parking lot eastc Roosevelt Street between the hours of 7:OO a.m. and 6:OO p.m. except for Sunday holidays. This recommendation is consistent with other TWO-HOUR PARKING zo the village area. FISCAL IMPACT: Four TWO-HOUR PARKING signs mounted on 10’ posts will cost approximately $4 EXHIBITS: 1. Antique Horizons %, G+ 0 &E/rlQuzs (COWCEPTS) It has been a problem ever since Oak Street was re ago. City employees park on both sides of Oak Street and part of State all day long. Therefore, there is not frontage parking for the afore said businesses’ patrons. All owners and employees of businesses on Sate Street in the 3000 block have been in agreement about leaving the street parking clear for customer service. All owners and employees park in the City parking lot on State Street (free parking). NS-265 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSE CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE CARLSI MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 10.40.082 TO DESlGNAl RAILROAD PARKING LOT EASTERLY TO ROOSEVELT STREET BETWEEN ' HOURS OF 7:OO A.M. AND 6:OO P.M. EXCEPT FOR SUNDAY AND HOLIDAY The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California hereby ordains as follow SECTION 1 : That Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is a TWO-HOUR PARKING ZONE ON EACH SIDE OF OAK AVENUE FROM ' the addition of Section 10.40.082 to read as follows: "1 0.40.082 There will be Two-Hour parking on each side of Oak Avenue from railroad parking lot easterly to Roosevelt Street between the hours of 7:OO and 6:OO p.m. except for Sunday and holidays."
