RECOMMENDED ACTION:
ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION

Accept a donation of one thousand six hundred and fifty-five dollars ($1,655) from the
Friends of CaWillo Ranch.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Recently the Deedie House structure at the Carrillo Ranch underwent necessq
emergency repairs. The extent of repairs consisted of foundation support, replacemen
of adobe blocks, mortar filling and whitewashing to a portion of the northwest come
of the structure.
Through the efforts of the Carrillo Ranch volunteer curator, Joan Kindle, thc
architectural services of Milford Wayne Donaldson were provided gratuitously in orde
to complete the necessary repairs in a timely fashion and at a reduced cost. In addition
the actual construction work was performed by Eagle Restorations at a reduced cost
The Council may recall that both Milford Wayne Donaldson and Eagle Restoration
have previously provided their services for work to the Carrillo Ranch made possiblc
by a grant from the State Office of Historic Preservation.
Subsequently, through the benevolence of the Rueben H. Fleet Foundation of San Dieg
by its financial contributions to the Friends of Carrillo Ranch, the "Friends" have offere
a grant to the City of Carlsbad to offset the cost of building repairs to the Deedie Hous
structure.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost of building repairs is $1,655. If Council concurs with the acceptance c
the donation, funds will be deposited and the appropriations increased by $1,655 in th
Miscellaneous Outside Services account for the Parks Division.

A RESOLUVION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF
($1,655) FROM THE FRIENDS OF CARRILLO RANCH
ONE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED FIFTY-FIVE DOLLARS
WHEREAS, the Deedie House structure at the Carrillo Ranch has und
necessary repairs, and
WHEREAS, the construction repair has been made possible at a reducc
through the efforts of the Carrillo Ranch volunteer curator, Milford Wayne Donaldsc
Eagle Restorations, and
WHEREAS, through the benevolence of the Rueben H. Fleet Foundation
Diego, the Friends of Carrillo Ranch have been afforded the opportunity to prc
grant donation to the City of Carlsbad for building repairs, and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad wishes to acknowledge the benevolence
extend their gratitude to Milford Wayne Donaldson, Eagle Restorations, the RUE
Fleet Foundation, and the Friends of Carrillo;
