ITEM EXPLANATION
On September 28, 1993, the City of Carlsbad City Council adopted Resolution 93.
authorizing the appropriation of funds and the purchase of equipment to replac
networked "XT" class computers in the City. Other computer equipment was apprc
on the same resolution. In addition, the Purchasing Department, at about this
received requisitions for other computer equipment previously approved by Council
placed in the Carlsbad Municipal Water department budget. To obtain the lowest p
possible, the Purchasing Department decided to consolidate all requests and make
purchase.
In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders
published and Requests for Bid was made of eight vendors for this equipment.
December 13, 1993, six bids were received and opened. Computerland, 5710 F
Road, San Diego, CA 92123, submitted the lowest bid of $27,571.07, including tax. T
for the 17 computers, 15 monitors and memory upgrades are shown here:

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds to purchase the "XT' replacement equipment were appropriated by Coun
Resolution 93-280. The 1 993-94 Operating Budget appropriated funds for coml
equipment for the Water District.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A BID AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A PURCHASE ORDER FOR
COMPUTER EQUIPMENT.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cai
California, as follows:
1. That the bid of Computerland, 571 0 Ruffin Road, San Diego, CA 92
hereby accepted and the Purchasing Officer is hereby authorized to execute a pu
order for the purchase of specified computer equipment in the amount of $27
including tax.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsb
regular meeting held on the 11th day of JANUARY 1994, by the following vote
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Stanton, Kulchin, Nygaard, Finnila
