RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-267, amending the Municipal Code to establish a prima facie
30 mile per hour speed limit upon Tamarack Avenue from Carlsbad Boulevard to
Interstate Highway 5.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-267 was introduced at the regdar City Council meeting of January
11,1994. The second reading allows Council to adopt the ordinance which would then
become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAI CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE CARLSBA MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE REPEAL OF SECTION 10,44,180 AND TH
AMENDMENT Of SECTION 16.44.300 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA FACIE 30 MIL
PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON TAMARACK AVENUE FROM CARLSBA
BOULEVARD TO INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains a
SECTION 1 : That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is
by the repeal of Section 10.44.1 80 and the amendment of Section 10.44.300 to read a
"1 0.44.300 Tamarack Avenue:
(a) the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty miles per hour.
(b) the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
(c) Village Drive, the prima facie speed limit shall be forty-five miles per hour.
(d) Drive, the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its ad1

published at least once in the Carlsbad Sun within fifteen (1 5) days after its adoptior
