RECOMMENDED ACTION:
If Council desires to authorize one or all of ifs members to file an argument in favor of
the Lego Family Park measure which will be on the June 7, 1994 ballot, then Council
should adopt Resolution No. 94-52.
ITEM EXPLANATION
At the Council meeting of February 8, 1994, Council adopted the documents calling a
Special Municipal Election on June 7, 1994, to place a measure before the voters
concerning the Lego Family Park. The resolution setting priorities for filing written
arguments, however, was continued for one week to allow Council the opportunity to
receive input from the public on the matter.
If Council acts on this item at the February 15, 1994 meeting, the deadline established
by the City Clerk for primary arguments will be March 4, 1994. Rebuttals, then, will
be due March 14, 1994.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of printing arguments and rebuttals is included in the total estimated cost of
the election. No matter who files the arguments, the City pays the costs of the election.
