Adopt Resolution No. 9q0bcp accepting a donation of $51,290 from the Friends oft
Library and directing an appropriate letter of thanks.
I'IEM EXPLANATION:
The Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $51,290 to the library to be used j
support of children's programs and for the purchase of the following items:
1. Curbside book return $ 2,490
2. Bookcases for branch $ 1,200
3. Selfcheck system and software $28,024
interface (for selfcheck)
4. Multiple copies of bestsellers $ 5,000
5. Books on tape $ 7,000
6. Table and four chairs for new branch $ 650
7. One Compaq Prolinea 4/33s Model 1 $ 1,451
computer and modem for reference
division at the main library
8. Support for children's programs $ 5,475

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GIFT OF
$51.290 FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $51,290 to t
library, and;
WHEREAS, the library and the Friends have agreed that this donation will
used in support of children’s programs and for the purchase of furniture, equipmc
and library materials;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the gift of $51,290 from the Friends
the Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 8th day of MARCH
1994, by the following vote, to wit:
