TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION (ACTION) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive two donations of one hundred seventy-five ($175) each from Knight Chiropractic and That Pizza Place in support of the Youth Basketball Program and recommend acceptance by the City Manager. ITEM EXPLANATION; The Community Services Department has received one hundred seventy-five ($175) dollar donations from Knight Chiropractic and That Pizza Place in support of the Youth Basketball Program for 1993-94. The program saw 700 young boys and girls play on more than 70 teams throughout the City. The program ran from December - March and afforded kids ages 8 to 17 the opportunity to be introduced to the sport of basketball or continue to refine their skills. The program was run at Stagecoach and Calavera Hills Community Centers. The donations were used to help purchase uniforms and equipment. In accordance with City Council Ordinance #1295, the donations may be accepted by the City Manager. The Department recommends acceptance of the donations and letters of appreciation will be sent to the contributors acknowledging their benevolence. FISCAL IMPACT; $350 has been deposited into the Sponsorships/Miscellaneous Special Events Account #880-519-9210-0000. EXHIBITS; 1.
