RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Introduce Ordinance No. Ns -2% amending various sections of the Carlsba
Municipal Code with reference to the newly formed Community Services Departmei
and affected management classifications.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
In March 1994, the City announced a reorganization which merged the two cil
departments of Parks and Recreation and Utilities Maintenance to form the ne1
Department of Community Services. On June 21,1994, the City Council unanimous1
revised several job classifications associated with the Community Service
Department to reflect changes in duties, responsibilities and functions.
The introduction of Ordinance No. /us- &%? will effectively commence th
implementation of necessary revisions to the Carlsbad Municipal Code in order t
reflect the establishment of a Community Services Department and the associate
management classifications.
FISCAL IMPACT
The fiscal impact resulting from this action is minimal, requiring publication/printin!
costs associated with revisions to the Municipal Code.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS CHAPTER 2.48, CHAPTER 6.08, CHAPTER 11.12, CHAP':
11.24, CHAPTER 11.32, AND CHAPTER 21.38 OF ':
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD REFERENCES TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR AND THE COMMUNITY SERVI( DEPARTMENT
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, Californ:
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 2, Chapter 2.48 of the Carlsl
Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of paragraph
section 2.48.030 to delete all references to the "Parks i
Recreation Directorgt, the Wtilities Directort1, the "Maintenai
Directort1, and the "Research and Analysis Manager", and to i
a reference to the ttCommunity Services Directortt i
IIAdministrative Services/Projects Manager."

SECTION 2: That Title 6, Chapter 6.08 of the Carlsl:
Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of sections 6.08.0;
6.08.060, 6.08.100 and 6.08.200 to change all references to 1
"Maintenance Director" to the wlCommunity Services Director. I

Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of sectic
