RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends acceptance of work in accordance with Contract No. U/M 93-6, as corn
and requests direction to the City Clerk to have the Notice of Completion recorded ai release the bonds thirty-five (35) days after recordation.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On November 2, 1993, the City Council awarded Contract No. U/M 93-6 in the amou
$200,971 to Bachman Construction for the complete renovation of Fire Station No. 1.
renovation was necessary to bring the facility up to current building codes. It included sei
modifications, handicap modifications, new electrical, plumbing and telecommunication syst
expanded bathrooms, remodeled kitchen and separate living quarters to accommodate fe
firefighters. Minor change orders amounting to $1 2,988.1 7 resulted in a total contract arr
of $21 3,959.1 7. Additional contracts and procurements not requiring Council app
amounted to $59,947.84. These contracts and purchase orders were for such items a
removal. This brought the total project cost, including the design, to $282,407. The a
construction took a total of 136 days from start to finish, is now complete and the ge
contractor's work is acceptable to the Community Services Director.
