RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-294, amending Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code to delete adult newsracks from the requirements of the adult entertainment ordinance.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-294 was introduced at the regular City Council meeting of September 20, 1994. The second reading allows Council to adopt the ordinance which would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CtTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAIUSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 21, CHAPTER
21.43 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
AMENDMENT OF SECTIONS 21.43.020 AND 21.43.040 TO
DELETE ADULT NEWSRACKS FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF
THE ADULT ENTERTAINMENT ORDINANCE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 21, Chapter 21.43, section 21.43.020 of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code is amended by the repeal of subsection (6) and the renumbering of the
succeeding subsections accordingly.
SECTION 2: That Title 21, Chapter 21.43, section 21.43.040 of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code is amended by the deletion of item number (9) and the renumbering of the
succeeding items accordingly.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its
adoption; and the city clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be
published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within
Council on the 20th day of SEPTEMBER 1994, and thereafter
