EXTENDING THE TEMPORARY COMMUNITY CITY ATTY DIRECTIONAL SIGN PROGRAM BCA 175(B) CITY MGR.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-299, amending Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code to extend Carlsbad's Temporary Community Directional Sign Program until January 1, 1996.
Ordinance No. NS-299 was introduced at the regular City Council meeting of January 17, 1995. During it's introduction, it was amended to include an operative date of January 1, 1995. The ordinance, as amended, is attached. The second reading allows Council to adopt the ordinance which would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published within fifteen days, if adopted.

ORDINANCE NO. NS-299
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING TITLE 21, CHAPTER 21.41 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE TO EXTEND THE TEMPORARY COMMUNITY DIRECTIONAL SIGN PROGRAM TO JANUARY 1, 1996. ZCA 175(B)
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does
ordain as follows:
SECTION I: That Title 21, Chapter 21.41 of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Section
21.41.076(8)(f) to read as follows:
"This section shall be effective until January 1, 1996, unless before that date the ordinance codified in this section is reviewed and extended by the City Council."
OPERATIVE DATE: To the extent that it does not operate
to deprive any person of a constitutional right, this ordinance
shall be operative on January 1, 1995 in order to avoid a lapse of
the temporary community directional sign program and to provide all
signs with the legal right to continue in existence according to
the provisions Of Chapter 21.41 of this code.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty
days after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify the
adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least
once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad
within fifteen days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council on the 17th day of JANUARY , 1995,
and thereafter
