ADOPT City Council Resolution No. 5 5 - 2 Ib GRANTING an easement and right of u
on property (APN 203-054-290 and 203-054-29) owned by the City of Carlsbad, located in
alley west of State Street, east of the Railroad Right-of-way and north of Grand Avenue, to I!
Diego Gas and Electric for the purposes of relocating an existing overhead electric line 2
authorizing the Mayor to execute the easement document.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
An overhead electric line needs to be felocated and placed underground on city-owned prope
located in the alley west of State Street, east of the Railroad Right-of-way and north of Gr:
Avenue in preparation for the new Village Transit Station. Before San Diego Gas and Eleci
can begin construction to relocate the subject line, the City of Carlsbad must grant an easen
to cover the installation and maintenance of these electric facilities. The City will continue to h
the right of ingress and egress to, from and along this easement.
The property in which this easement and right of way is to be granted is legally describec
follows:
That portion of the Northeast One Quarter and a portion of the Southeast One Qua of Section 1, Township 12 South, Range 5 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridisu
described in a Deed Recorded December 9, 1983 at Recorder's File/Page No. 83449
of Official Records in the office of the County Recorder of said County of San Die{
The property is just east of the site for the new Village Transit Station.
Staff is recommending that the City Council grant the subject easement to San Diego Gas
Electric for the purposes of relocating an existing overhead line onto the described city-ow
property.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA GRANTING AN EASEMENT TO SAN
DIEGO GAS AND ELECTRIC ON PROPERTY OWNED BY THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD FOR THE PURPOSES OF RELOCATING AN
EXISTING OVERHEAD ELECTRIC LINE,
WHEREAS, San Diego Gas and Electric has been requested to relocate i
overhead electric line and place it underground on a portion of city-owned property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad must grant an easement to San Diego Gas ai
before construction can begin to relocate said electric line.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council t
of Carlsbad, California, as follows:

The City of Carlsbad hereby grants an easement to San Diego Gas and Electr

San Diego Gas & Electric has received application for the extension of underground electric faciktt
to serve the North County Transit Districts Intermodel project.
Enclosed is a drawing showing the proposed route of these facitties. However, before we start
construction, an easement is needed from the City of Carlsbad to cover the installation and maintenance
these facfities.

The original Grant of Easement with San Diego Gas & Electric was sent to De
Fountain, Housing and Redevelopment. Debbie stated that she would take car
sending the original to SDG&E.
