RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Staff recommends acceptance of work in accordance with Contract No. U/M 94-8, as
complete and requests direction to the City Clerk to have the Notice of Completion
recorded and to release the bonds in accordance with City Procedures.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On August 16, 1994, the City Council awarded contract No. U/M 94-8, in the amount
of $28,883, to Macord Construction for the Holiday House Fire Restoration. Minor
change orders amounting to $2,454 resulted in a total contract amount of $31,337.
The actual construction took a total of 56 days from start to finish, is now complete
and the General contractor’s work is acceptable to the Facilities Manager.
In addition to the general contract, other expenditures included the design cost of
$3,900, a security alarm system and a new first aid station that were installed by
Facilities Management at a cost of $1,475. This brought the total cost of the
restoration to $36,712 all of which was covered by our insurance.
