Adopt Ordinance No. NS-306, amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code by the amendment of Section 10D44 D 280
to establish a 35 mile per hour prima facie speed limit on
Segments 1 and 3 of Avenida Encinas, between Poinsettia Lane and
Palomar Airport Road, and to establish a 30 mile per hour prima facie speed limit on Segment 2, the recently constructed portion
of Avenida Encinas.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-306 was introduced and first read at a regular
City Council meeting on March 28, 1995. The second reading
allows Council to adopt the ordinance which would then become
effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION
LIMIT AND PRIMA FACIE 30 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON
DESIGNATED SEGMENTS OF AVENIDA ENCINAS FROM POINSETTIA LANE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD.
10.44280 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA FACIE 35 MILE PER HOUR SPEED
The City Council of the Ci of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1 : That Tale 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is a
by the revision of Section 10.44.280 to read as follows:
‘1 0.44.280 Avenida Encinas:
(a) Upon Avenida Encinas from Poinsettia Lane to a point three thousand feet n
the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
(b) Upon Avenida Encinas from a point three thousand feet northerly of PoinSe.
to a point three thousand five hundred feet southerly of Palomar Airport Road, the pi
