RECOMMENDED ACTION:
TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF GIFT FROM FRIENDS
LIB CITY LIBRARY
Adopt Resolution No. 9 5-88 accepting a donation of $7,500.00 from the Friends
Library and directing an appropriate letter of thanks.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $7,500.00 to the library to be us
connect the La Costa Branch Library to the city’s local area network to provide pul
access to the library’s CD ROM products which include the AMERICAN BUSINES:
DIRECTORY, READERS GUIDE TO PERIODICAL LITERATURE, BUSINESS PER101
INDEX, PHONE DISC USA, HEALTH SOURCE, WORLD OF POETRY, AND SAN Dl
UNION.
The donated funds will be used to purchase a computer, printer and the necessav
equipment and phone line to provide the connection. This connection will give us
the La Costa Branch Library access to the wealth of information contained in the lil
CD ROM collection.

None.

RESOLUTION NO. 95-88
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GIFT OF
$7,500.00 FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $7,500.00 1
WHEREAS, the library and the Friends have agreed that this donation WI
be used in support of the La Costa Branch Library’s access to the library’s CD
ROM collection;
the library, and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the gift of $7,500.00 from the Frienc
of the Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 1 lth day of APRIL
1995, by the following vote, to wit:
