(1) street light on Olive Avenue.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Qan blega G~s and Elodric Campany recently mmpleted undergrbunding 0~6rh6i
lines on Garfield Street from Chinquapin Avenue to Agua Hedionda Lagoon. C
facilities on Olive Avenue were also undergrounded. Although the underground
has been completed, several poles cannot be removed because street lights are
to them. Installing new street lights will enable SDG&E to disconnect the existi
lights and remove the remaining poles. Staff has surveyed the area and met v
residents and recommends installation of four street lights as shown on the attac

Staff estimates the cost of installing the four street lights to be $16,000. Yearly t
and maintenance costs are estimated at $46 per street light.

RESOLUTION NO. 95-104
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROPRIATING $16,000 OF GENERALFUND MONEYTO
PROJECT ACCOUNT NO, 3464 FOR THE INSTAUATION OF THREE
STREET UGHTS ON GARFIELD STREET AND ONE STREET UGHT ON
OLIVE AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determined it
desirable, and in the public interest to complete the undergrounding project on Ga
and Olive Avenue; and
WHEREAS, San Diego Gas and Electric Company recently completed undc
overhead utilities on the southerly portion of Garfield Street and Olive Avenue; and
WHEREAS, two (2) existing street lights are attached to utility poles that
removed; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to install replacement street lights before remvi
poles that support the street lights.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Ci f
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That in order to complete the undergrounding project on Garfield Streel
Avenue, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad hereby directs the Finance Dep
appropriate General Fund money in the amount of $16,000 to Project Account No. 3
installation of street lights on Garfield Street and Olive Avenue.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad C
held on the 18thday of APRIL , 1995 by the following vote, to wit:
