SETTLEMENT OF WORKERS’
Adopt Resolution No. 4 5 - ,202 approving the Compromise and Release which authorizes tE
payment of $30,000 to Ken Hansen.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The claimant is a former Building Maintenance Carpenter. He was employed by the City
a period of 8 years prior to his retirement in 1993.
Mr. Hansen injured his neck on April 30,1991 while working overhead on a light fnture.
The terms and conditions of the proposed settlement are set forth in the Compromise and
Release (Exhibit 2, on file in Risk Management). The terms and conditions were agreed
upon by the attorney representing the claimant and the attorney representing the City, anc
have been approved by HCM Claim Management, the City’s Third Party Administrator.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total cost of the settlement is $30,000. There are sufficient funds available in the
Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance Fund to cover the cost of this settlement.

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the expenditure of $30,000 from the Workers Compensation Self-
Insurance Fund is authorized for the settlement of said claims.
