RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution NO. 5?si&'L accepting bids and awarding the contract for
construction of Hosp Grove Park, Project No. 3431 to Lasater Construction Company,
I nc.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On April 25, 1995, the City Council authorized the advertisement of bids for Hosp
Grove Park, "Buena Vista, Special Use Area." The 5.5 acre park site is located within
Hosp Grove near the corner of Jefferson Street and Marron Road and across the
street from the "duck observation area." The park project will provide passive
recreational amenities consisting of a children's play area, picnic tables, trails,
parking, landscaping and signage.

This project received a Negative Declaration from the Planning Department on May $ 30, 1991 , and a Coastal Development Permit on August 12, 1992,

FISCAL IMPACT:
The City Council has previously appropriated $172,000 (State Grant) for the project
in the 1995-96 Capital improvement Program (Account #380-820-1821-3431).

AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 3431
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF HOSP GROVE PARK

WHEREAS, the low bid received for the project was submitted by Lasater 6
of Hosp Grove Park, Project No. 3431 , and
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the construction

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
