CSD MODIFICATlONS/INSTALLATlONS AT HOLIDAY, STAGECOACH, CALAVERA, AND LAGUNA RlVlERA PARKS CITY M( I I I Q 0 fx 9 5 I RECOMMENDED ACTION: I I , I i I If Council concurs, adopt Resolution No, 7 5- dB 5 accepting bid and awardin Contract No. CSD 020 for the installation of new playground equipment, modificatio of some existing equipment and installation of surfacing which meets the America with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements to Gledson/Cashman Construction. ITEM EXPLANATION: In July 1995, the City Council adopted Resolution 95-196 approving plans an' specifications for playground improvements. The construction/installation of the ne\ and/or modified playgrounds will enable handicap access to the play equipment i Holiday, Laguna Riviera, Stagecoach, and Calavera Parks. The improvements wi include ADA approved surfacing to all the equipment. The open competitive bis process began July 18, 1995, and closed August 24, 1995. The project coordinator' estimate for improvements was $1 50,000. One sealed bid was received, opened, an evaluated. The result is as follows: Gledson/Cashman Construction $1 39,921 Staff recommends the bid be awarded to Gledson/Cashman Construction in thc amount of $139,921. FISCAL I M PACT: The City Council has previously appropriated $165,000 of Community Developmer Block Grant funding for this project. The funding is in accounts 391-1821-3749 fc Holiday Park, 391 -1 823-3750 for Laguna Riviera Park, 391 -1 824-3751 for Stagecoac~ Park, and 391-1822-3752 for Calavera Community Park. It is recommended that th capital accounts identified be combined into one single account to facilitate paymer for this contract. EXHIBITS: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 19 2. Gledson/Cashman Construction represents the City’s best interest 20 installation/modification of playground equipment and surfacing. 21 3. The award for this project shall be awarded to Gledson/Ca 22 1 Construction in the amount of $139,921. 23 24 4. Community Development Block Grant funds of $165,000 are appro 25 Ii for these playground equipment rnodifications/construction. 26 5.
