Section 10 (d) of the Council's 1995 Legislative Platform supports efforts which d:

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING
ALCOHOL SERVER INTERVENTION TRAINING LEGISLATI01
WHEREAS, legislation implementing Alcohol Server Intervention Training
Program requirements has successfully reduced alcohol related vehicle accidents and
deaths in fifteen other states; and
WHEREAS, implementing an Alcohol Server Intervention Training Program
in California would not be costly since a voluntary program has already been
developed by the California Office of Alcoholic Beverage Control; and
WHEREAS, Senator Lucy Killea has agreed to introduce legislation
requiring servers of alcoholic beverages to successfully obtain a certificate from an
Alcohol Server Intervention Training Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council of the City of Carlsbad supports adoption of Alcohol
Server Intervention Training legislation.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council on the 21st day of NOVEMBER, 1995 by the following votes to wit:
