RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-339, amending Title 10, Chapter 10.58 ( the Carlsbad Municipal Code by the amendment of Section 10.58.0;
to prohibit skateboarding within the downtown area of Carlsbac
and on certain portions of the sidewalk along Carlsbad Boulevarc
the Senior Center parking lot, and City Hall.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-339 was introduced and first read at the regul: City Council meeting of November 21, 1995.
The second reading allows Council to adopt the ordinance whic would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk wi: have the ordinance published within fifteen days, if adopted.
FISCAL IMPACT

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING TITLE 10,
CHAPTER 10.58 BY THE REVISION OF SECTION
10.58.020, TO PROHIBIT SKATEBOARDING WITHIN THE ENTIRE DOWNTOWN AREA.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, Calif
does ordain as follows:
SECTION I: That Title 10, Chapter 10.58 of the
Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the repeal of secti
10.58.020 and enactment of a new section 10.58.020 to rea
follows :
1110.58.020 Skateboardinq prohibited - Where
It is unlawful for any person to ride a skatebc
the following locations:
(a) On any sidewalk, public street, publi
parking lot, or public property in the Village Redeveioprr
(V-R), as shown in the Carlsbad Village Area Redevelopmen and as further shown on the map labeled Exhibit “Avv. (b) Along the public sidewalk on the west side of Carlsbad Boulevard extending from Oak Street to C Road, the northern portion of which is commonly known as Whale Watch Walkway;

SECTION 2: That Title 10, Chapter 10.58 of thc
