HlRED CITY M( AB# 13, I 5-2’3 TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS :3 .- 4; - 9 6 RECOMMENDED ACTION: ADOPT City Council Resolution No. 96 - 3 6 , accepting donations totaling one th hundred and fifty dollars ($1,550) in support of the Family Self-sufficiency (FSS) PI ITEM EXPLANATION: The Housing and Redevelopment Department has been provided with donations of c one thousand five hundred and fifty dollars ($1,550) in support of the FSS program The FSS program is designed to enable unemployed, underemployed or undereduca 8 Participants to achieve economic independence from public assistance and rental Participants sign a five-year Career Plan outlining the steps needed to become se These contributions will be used to help FSS participants to achieve their career goal of an immediate source of finances for educational and/or vocational training need: barrier to self-sufficiency. These funds will be made available to participants to hc purchase of books, payment of tuition and fees and the start-up costs for entr pursuits. Listed below are the donors, and the amount of their contribution: 0 Capital Bank of North County $ 350.00 0 The Bank of California $ 350.00 0 First Interstate Bank $ 350.00 0 Lifeline Community Services $ 500.00 Total Contributions $1,550.00 FISC.4L IMPACT: The $1,550 donation has been deposited into the Revolving Loan Fund Account. WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has received donations of cash totaling one thousanc hundred and fifty dollars in support of the Family Self-Sufficiency Program; and WHEREAS, those donations will be used to assist in the overall success of participants in achic their goals to become self-sufficient; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the benevolence of those bank organizations that have contributed to this special program and accept these contributions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Car California, as follows: 1. 2.
