City Council accept Resolution No. 96 -87
the Isabel Brittain Trust.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Isabel Brittain was a participant at the Carlsbad Senior Center for many year:
Isabel pased away in November of 1994. She has generously remembered th
Senior Center in her estate through the most recent donation of $5,000.
SENIOR COMMISSION ACTION:
At their meeting February 15, 1996, the Senior Commission voted unanimous1
to recommend acceptance of $5,000 received from the Isabel Brittain Trust
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $5,000 donated from the Isabel Brittain Trust has been deposited into th
Senior Citizen Trust Fund account #880-519-9203-0000. The funds will b
utilized for the purchase of special equipment or to support "special
activitiedevents at the Carlsbad Senior Center.

RESOLUTION NO. 96-89
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
ACCEPTING A DONATION OF FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($5,000).
WHEREAS, the Isabel Brittain Trust has donated Five Thousand doll;
($5,000) to the Carlsbad Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the City Council accepts the donation of Five Thousand dollars
($5,000) on behalf of the Senior Citizens of the City of Carisbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the C
Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 19thday of MARCH, 1996, by t
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Nygaard, Kulchin, Finnila, I

Dear Mr. Kray:
I want to thank you for the recent donation we received from the
Isabel Brittain Trust. Her generosity to the Carlsbad Senior Center is
greatly appreciated.
Funds we receive are deposited into the "Senior Citizen Trust Fund"
and utilized to buy special equipment or fund a particular program for
which other funds are unavailable.
I am certain that Isabel would be pleased to know that the money she
so thoughtfully has given to the center will be utilized for the benefit
of ail seniors who participate here.
