CSD CITY M( PROJECT NO. 3348 I RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. cib - // 2' appropriating additional funds for sports lightin! at Poinsettia Park, Phase I, and authorizing the City Manager to approve the changc order. ITEM EXPLANATION: Phase I of the three phase Poinsettia Community Park is currently under constructior Included in this phase is the lighting of one large ballfield and a soccer comple scheduled to be completed in April. Two additional ballfields (refer to Exhibit C Ballfield #2 and #3) will be constructed during Phase II. Staff recommends thE lighting for the Phase I ballfield and the two future ballfields be installed concurrentl) With all ballfield lights in place prior to construction of surrounding residential unit5 future neighborhood lighting concerns will be mitigated. Staff will process a change order with the Phase I contractor, LR Hubbard, for th additional lighting. This agenda bill will authorize the City Manager to approve th change order up to an estimated amount of $220,000. FISCAL IMPACT: The overall budget for Poinsettia Park as outlined in the 1995-96 Capital lmprovemer Program is as follows: I PI-IASE $9,987,000 TOTAL $3,000,000 2005+ PHASE Ill $2,900,000 2000-2005 PHASE II $4,087,000 Under Construction PHASE I BUDGET FISCAL VEAR Staff is recommending the appropriation of an additional $220,000 from the Publi Facilities Fees fund to the Poinsettia Park, Phase I project account. The installatio of sports lighting on Ballfields #2 and #3 is part of Phase II construction. Budgete Phase II costs for Poinsettia Community Park will be reduced in the 1996-97 Capit; Improvement Program (CIP) to reflect the early installation of lighting for the futut ballfields. WHEREAS, construction of improvements for Poinsettia Community Par1 I, has necessitated an additional appropriation of funds to cover installation of sports lights for Fields #2 and #3; and WHEREAS, adequate funds in the amount of $220,000 for said sports ligl available in the Public Facilities Fees fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of C California, the following: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate additional the amount of $220,000 to the Poinsettia Park, Phase I, account. 3. That the City Manager is authorized to approve a construction orders for sports lighting for Ballfields #2 and #3 up to $220,000.
