ENG FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE ENTRANCE TO RECOMMENDED ACTION: LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT NO. 3496 1;; Adapt Rosalutian No. 5 &, c 1% l accepting bids and awarding a contract construction of a traffic signal on Camino de 10s Coches at the entrance to L; Canyon High School, Project No. 3496. 1 ITEM EXPLANATION: On November 14, 1995, the City Council approved the plans and specificat Project No. 3496 and directed the City Clerk to advertise for construction bic March 14, 1996, the following seven (7) sealed bids were received: 1. MCR Electrical Contractors 2. Select Electric 3. Lekos Electric 4. Knox Electric 5. TDS Engineering 6. De La Cruz Construction 7, DBX, Inc, $69 , 490 $69,775 $71,040 $7 1 ,692 $75,234 $77,291 $78,476 Bids have been reviewed and analyzed. The lowest responsible bidder is MCR E Contractors, Inc., which submitted a bid of $69,490. Staff recommends awarl contract to MCR Electrical Contractors. The signal must be in operation before the start of the new school year in Sei Construction is estimated to begin in early July 1996. The actual start date will dE the delively date of the signal equipment from the manufacturer. Once construction is expected to be completed in less than thirty (30) working days. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT This project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Envirc P Quality Ad: (CEQA) and a Notice of Exemption was filed by the Planning Directc hll g U 5 z 0 l- 2 a g Z 3 0 0 FISCAL IMPACT: To date, total expenditures for this project have been $2,020. Barnhart, Inc., approved by the City Council on November 14, 1s City shall receive $45,000 from Douglas E. Barnhart for the construction of the traffic Therefore, the City's estimated cost to construct the traffic signal will be: $79,913 $34,913 - 45,000 Funds in the amount of $103,900 are available for Project No. 3496. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City ( California, as follows: 14 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 15 2.
