RECOMMENDED ACTION: Introduce City Council Ordinance No. N/s -363 amending Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code to extend Carlsbad’s Temporary Community Directional Sign Program until January 1, 1997. ITEM EXPLANATION On November 21, 1995, the City Council extended the Community Directional Sign Program (Subdivision Kiosks) until June 1, 1996. At that time, staff was preparing amendments to update the program. Staff needs additional time to complete the task and is therefore recommending that the existing program be extended until January 1, 1997, so that the work can be completed. FISCAL IMPACT None. CASE NAME: TEMPORARY COMMUNITY DIRECTIONAL SIGNS CASE NO: ZCA 95-l 1 The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: That Title 2 1, Chapter 21.41, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Section 21.41.076 Subsection (f) to read as follows: (0 “This section shall be effective until January 1, 1997 unless before that date the ordinance codified in this section is reviewed and extended by the City Council.” EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its adoption, and the city clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen days after its adoption.
