RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-362, amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the amendment of Section 10.44.030 to revise the existing 25 mile per hour prima
facie speed I;&t on a segment of CarlsLad Boulevard , to establish a 30 Ale per hour prima
facie speed limit &om Walnut Avenue to Mountain View Drive.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-362 was introduced and first read at a regular City Council meeting on June
1 1, 1996. The second reading allows Council to adopt the ordinance which would then
become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published within fifteen
days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL, CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF
SECTION 10.44.030 TO REVISE THE EXISTING 25 MILE PER HOUR
PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT UPON A PORTION OF CARLSBAD BOULEVARD TO ESTABLISH A 30 MlLE PER HOUR PRIMA FACIE
SPEED LIMIT FROM WALNUT AVENUE TO MOUNTAIN VIEW DRIVE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:

1 1 Mountain View Drive the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by th
amendment of Section 10.44.030 to read as follows:
"10.44.030 Carlsbad Boulevard (a) Upon Carlsbad Boulevard from the north boundary of the City to its intersection witl
