ITEM EXPLANATION: In 1988, the State Legislature approved Senate Bill 140, the Transportation Demonstration Progrz program has since been renamed the Statelocal Transportation Partnership Program (SLTPP) an funded annually (yearly cycles). The purpose of the program is to provide matching funds to local z willing to generate new sources of revenue for projects. The intent is to help cities, such as Carlst have set up local programs as funding sources such as the Public Facilities Fee and the Traffic Imp Staff is recommending the following projects be submitted to CALTRANS for Cycle 8 of the SLTPP: Hidden Valley Road (Poinsettia Park frontage) Overlay Various City Streets Chestnut Avenue Widening (El Camino Real to Monroe) Traffic Signal at Paseo del Norte & Camino de las Ondas Traffic Signal at Alga Road & Blue Heron Place FlSCAL IMPACT-. The City could receive up to $24,760 in State funds. The amount the City may receive is bE qualifying construction bid item costs of $1,238,000 for the projects. The amount of State f determined by the amount of funds appropriated for the program and the number of cities meeting tt requirements. To date the City has received or been allocated over $5 million dollars in State an Partnership Program funds reimbursement with only small administrative costs. 'I. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City Council authorized the City Engineer to make application to CALT for State-Local Transportation Partnership Program Cycle 8 funding for the fol improvements: Hidden Valley Road .
