RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. ?& . -2?c, ."" authorizing the destruction of certain files.
ITEM EXPLANATION
This agenda bill is part of the continuing records Management Program for all City depar
Adoption of the Resolution will complete the destruction of obsolete files in the Put
Department.
Section 34090 of the Government Code provides authority for destruction of documents
more than two years old and are no longer needed. Authorization of the City Council is I
prior to the destruction of these documents.
The documents listed in Exhibit "A" have been reviewed in accordance with the provi:
Section 34090 of the Government Code, and meet those requirements, and the City Atton
consented to their destruction.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN RECORDS KPT BY TH€
PURCHASING DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code provides for destruction of certa
records; and
Whereas, the documents listed in Exhibit 'A", attached hereto, and made a part herec
have been reviewed by the Purchasing Officer; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has consented to the destruction of the documents listc
in Exhibit "A; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsba
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Purchasing Officer is hereby authorized to destroy the documents list1
in Exhibit "A", attached hereto.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council oft
City of Carlsbad on the 1Othday of September , 1996, by the following vote, to wit:
