Once Council Members have been seated following each General Municipal Election, J
of Council's reorganization includes the Council Committee assignments.
Attached to this agenda bill is a list of the current Council committee assignments. This
includes only those committee appointments which are made by the Mayor. It does
include those committees which various council members serve on as a result of tl
appointments by other agencies.

FROM: Mayor Bud Lewis
SECOND ALTERNATE TO SANDAG
It is my intention to appoint Council Member Matt Hall as the second alternate to
SANDAG for the City of Carlsbad. Council Member Finnila will remain the
representative, I will be the first alternate, and Matt will be the second alternate.
By making this official designation and notifying SANDAG, Council Member Hall
will be able to attend the SANDAG meetings as a voting member from Carlsbad,
if Ramona and I are both unable to attend a meeting.
Please let me know if you would like to discuss this appointment further, so that I
can officially advise SANDAG of this new designation.

REPRESENTATION ON LIBRARY AUTHORITY
It is my intention to designate Council Member Ann Kulchin as the City’s elected
representative on the Library Authority. The creation of this Authority by the
County is for the purpose of placing a quarter cent sales tax on the November
election ballot.
The first meeting of the Authority will be Wednesday, July 31, 1996, 9:00 AM at
the County Administration Center in San Diego.
Please let me know if you wish to discuss this Authority in more detail.
