PUR AWARD OF BID FOR LASER PRINTERS DEPT ClTV , CITY I I I RECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends Council adopt Resolution No. 96 - YYY , accepting the bid pr Microage - City of Industry to provide Hewlett Packard laser printers to the City of Carl: ITEM EXPLANATION I According to our Information Systems department, many of the City's laser printe support the newer computer software we have recently acquired. Only a few purchased laser printers will support the new financial information system currer installed. Also, the older laser printers are becoming high maintenance items dl increasing frequency of repairs. As a result, a laser printer upgrade effort is necessar) In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders was I and Requests for Bid were sent to six vendors. Four bids were received. The PL Department recommends acceptance of the bid from Microage Computer Center, 18 Gale Avenue, City of Industry CA 91748. Tabulation of unit price bid results are belc are based on estimated quantities to be purchased, final numbers may be less): FISCAL IMPACT The Information Systems capital account has $45,700.00 budgeted for this repl; Additionally, $30,000.00 is available in the CIP for printer replacement as needed. Hewlett Packard is offering trade-in rebates that will be applied against the purchase printers. However, the rebate amounts fluctuate due to market conditions and predictable. Currently they range from $90.00 to $225.00 depending on the type c traded-in.
