(E DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS KEPT BY RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 93- 19 authorizing destruction of certain records kept bq City Engineer’s office. ITEM EXPLANATION: Section 34090 of the Government Code provides authority for the destruction of documents th; more than two years old and no longer required. Authorization of the City Council is rec addition to the consent of the City Attorney prior to the destruction of any document. The documents listed below have been reviewed in accordance with the provisions of Sc 34090 of the Government Code and meet those requirements, and the City Attorney has cons1 to their destruction. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad resolves: 1. That pursuant to Section 34090 of the Government Code, the City Engineer’s office authorized to destroy records as shown in Exhibit “A”. 2. This resolution shall not authorize the destruction of any record which is necessi for the ongoing or current activity of the City Engineer’s office. Each year, the amount grows quite substantially. I would like permission to have destroyed the records indicated below. If you approve, these records will be added to the list to be included in an agenda bill being prepared by our administrative staff in the Engineering Department. Records - Dates Traffic Collision Reports 1991 and earlier SWITRS reports 1991 and earlier Traffic Collision Log 1986 and earlier Traffic Requests 1986 and earlier Traffic Count Print-outs 1993 and earlier Speed Surveys 1986 and earlier Please advise if all or any of these records can be destroyed.
