RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 99-69 accepting a donation of $2,385.00 from the Friends of tk
Library and directing an appropriate letter of thanks.

ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $2,385.00 to the library to cover th
cost of library materials lost by homeowners in the Harmony Grove fire.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This donation will be appropriated to the library's gifts and bequests fund and will be
used to purchase books and other library materials.
EXHIBITS:
1. Resolution No.99-68 accepting a gift from Friends of the Library to the Carlsk
City Library.

RESOLUTION NO. 97-68
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GIFT OF
$2,385.00 FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $2,385.00 1
the library, and;
WHEREAS, the library and the Friends have agreed that this donation wil
used to replace library materials lost in the Harmony Grove fire;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City o
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the gift of $2,385.00 from the Friend
the Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad.
3. That the City Council appropriates the $2,385.00 to the library gift
and bequests fund for the purchase of books and library materials.
