CA I CITY MGR That the City Council, by motion, authorize a closed session regarding pending Ii follows : I move that the City Council hold a closed session to discuss Coast Waste Management v. County, Case No. 94-1823-S(BTM), and Citv v. Countv, Case No. N66415 pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a), and pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.8, to I discuss the acquisition or potential acquisition of real property located on the east side of El Camino Real, north of Palomar Airport Road in the City of Carlsbad and generally identified as: Palomar Transfer Station East side of El Camino Real north of Palomar Airport Road APN 209-050-25 Approximately 17.196 acres r: 0 .- CI 2 s - .- 0 c 3 t? I e 8 LAST WEEK FOLLOWING THE COUNCIL’S CLOSEC SESSION, THE MAYOR ANNOUNCED THAT THE COUNCIL HAD APPROVED IN CONCEPT I SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT OVER THE PALOMAI TRANSFER STATION. I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE TONIGHT THAT THI SETTLEMENT HAS BEEN FINALIZED AND W UNDERSTAND WILL BE APPROVED BY THE SA DIEGO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISOR TOMORROW. THIS SETTLEMENT WILL ALLOW THE CITY USE AN OCCUPANCY OF THE PALOMAR TWNSFER STATIC TO SERVE THE SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL NEEDS C ALL OF ITS RESIDENTS. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSFER CAPACITY OF TI PALOMAR TRANSFER STATION HAS BEE b ". 0 0 APPROVED BY OUR PLANNING CoMMlSSloN FOR Ab INCREASE TO SERVE TRASH TRANSFER NEEDS OF OTHER NORTH COUNTY RESIDENTS. ALTHOUGH THE NORTH COUNTY LANDFILL WlLl CLOSE TOMORROW, THE SETTLEMENT AGREEMEN- THAT WE HAVE APPROVED TONIGHT WILL ALLOV SOLID WASTE TRANSFER AND DISPOSAL SERVICE: TO CONTINUE AT SAFE, RELIABLE AND ECONOMI( LEVELS. THE FORMAL DOCUMENTS WILL BE APPROVED I THE NEXT WEEK OR TWO AT A REGULAR COUNCI MEETING.
