ENG RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 93 - 492 approving plans and specifications and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the construction of Monroe Street & Chestnut Avenue Street Lights, Project No. 3503 <. ITEM EXPLANATION: Plans and specifications to install street lights on Monroe Street and Chestnut Avenue have been completed. This project is necessitated by the undergrounding of the overhead utilities and SDG&E removal of electrical poles. The City will replace one existing street light on Chestnut Avenue with four (4) standard street lights, and will replace three (3) existing street lights on Monroe Street with nine (9) standard street lights. The City has made arrangements with SDG&E in which the City will purchase udergrounding conduits and pull boxes for the street lights, and SDG&E will install the conduit in their joint trench with other utilities. This will reduce the conflict between the City’s lighting contractor and SDG&E’s undergrounding operation. Upon completion of SDG&E’s undergrounding, the City ’s lighting contractor will install wiring and erect the street light poles. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: This project is categorically exempt from the environmental review process under the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Section 15301 C 1 ass (1) FISCAL IMPACT: The Engineer’s Estimate for the construction of this project is $39,000. This project will be funded from the General Capital Construction (GCC) Fund. Funds in the amount of $150,000 have been appropriated and are available for this project. EXHIBITS: 1. Location map. 2.
