Project No. 3512. 1 ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Community Swim Complex Parking Lot is in need of rehabilitation for three primaq
to improve the structural integrity of the parking lot pavement, to improve the circulatior
the parking lot layout and to provide additional parking spaces. The Community Swim
was originally constructed in 1980. Last year, staff from the Community Services D
requested the Engineering Department to include rehabilitation of the parking lot into tl
Improvement Program (CIP) due to the deterioration of the existing asphalt pavement.
The pavement has deteriorated primarily due to stormwater infiltration through the
surface which has caused a need to remove the entire pavement section. The install

CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
IMPROVEMENT OF THE COMMUNITY SWIM COMPLEX PARKING LOT, PROJECT NO. 351 2.
5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determir
