RECOMMENDED ACTION:
That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 99 - 4 5 7 changing a portion of PC
Lane to Poinsettia/Aviara Parkway and adopting Resolution No.?? - 45 P an
Council Policy Statement No. 20 “Street Naming and Addressing Policy”.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
At its meeting of April 1, 1997, the City Council directed the City Attorney to prepare doc
to approve the proposed street name change on a portion of Poinsettia L
Poinsettia/Aviara Parkway and to return with the necessary documents. CALTRA
notified the City, by its letter of April 10, 1997, that the proposed street name change me
its approval, and that the freeway signs can be modified, (See attached Exhibit No, 3).
Those documents approving the proposed street name change and amending the C
street name change policy are attached for your consideration. If they meet with your a

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A STREET NAME
CHANGE ON A PORTION OF POINSETTIA LANE TO
POlNSEITlA LANElAVlARA PARKWAY IN THE
SOUTHWEST QUADRANT OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, Aviara Land Associates has filed a verified applicatiol
the City of Carlsbad which has been referred to the City Council: and
WHEREAS, said verified application constitutes a request for a
name change as shown on Exhibit “I”, (attached) and as provided by City C
Policy Statement No. 20; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did 011 the 1st day of April, 1997, I
duly noticed hearing to consider said proposed street name change; and
WHEREAS, at said hearing, upon hearing and considering all test
and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Council conside
factors relating to the street name change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City COUI
follows:
A) That the above recitations are true arid correct.
B) That based on the evidence presented at the hearing, the City C
approves a street Rame change, based on the following findin
subject to the following condition:

1. That the City Council finds that overriding economic and social considel
permit the street name change on that portion of Poinsettia Lane to Poi1
Lane/Aviara Parkway as shown on Exhibit “I”.

NAMING
