A “S AGREEMENT FOR AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES rllTG.6/17/97 TITLE: EXTENSION AND AMENDMENT NO. 1 RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution NO.9j-W8 approving the Extension and Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement for Architectural and Engineering Services (NE) for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements to City facilities. ITEM EXPLANATION In August, 1996 the City sent Requests for Quote for Architectural and Engineering Services (NE) to provide time and cost estimates for the required Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements for City facilities (Phase A). Moon, Mayoras Architects was the successful bidder and an agreement was entered into on September 18, 1996. The agreement was for a period of one year at a cost of $22,680. Phase A has been completed. Phase B which provides for specifications and construction documents for the work identified in Phase A is ready for implementation. The cost of the architectural and engineering services is estimated to be $80,000. The estimated cost of the actual construction is $215,000 and is expected to take six months to complete. FISCAL IMPACT Funding for this project is appropriated in the Capital Improvement Program, ADA Mandate - City Facilities, account number 30070009060/34411900. EXHIBITS 1. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. The above recitations are true and correct. 2. That sufficient funds are available in the ADA Mandate - City Facilities account 300700009060l34411900. 3. That the Extension and Amendment No. 1 between the City of Carlsbad and Moon, Mayoras Architects is hereby approved and the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said agreement. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to forward copies of the signed agreement to the Facilities Management Division of the Community Services Department for processing.
