ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM NEWPORT
ENTERPRISES, AND TRI-TEAL CORPORATION TO THE
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution N0.97-49‘~ accepting a donation of $5,000.00 from Newport I
Corporation, Marco Plaza Enterprises, and Tri-Teal Corporation and direc
appropriate letter of thanks.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Newport National Corporation, Marco Plaza Enterprises, and Tri-Teal Corporatic
generously offered a donation of $5,000.00 to the Carlsbad City Library, with the
that the money be used where staff thinks it can be put to the best use.
Staff will use the donation to purchase books for the Children’s collections at the w
branch libraries.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The donation of $5,000.00 will be deposited into the library’s Gifts and Bequests F
appropriated to the Books Account.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $5,000.00 FROM NEWPORT
CORPOMTION TO THE CARLSBAD LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, the Newport National Corporation, Marco Plaza Enterprises, and
,
NATIONAL CORPORATION, MARC0 PLAZA ENTERPRISES, AND TRI-TEAL
Tri-Teal Corporation have donated $5,000 00 to the library, and;
WHEREAS, the library will use this donation for the purchase of children's book 7

for the main and branch libraries;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the gift of $5,000.00 from Newport Nation
Corporation, Marco Plaza Enterprises, and Tri-Teal Corporation on behalf of all citizen!
