RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 9 9-.55% accepting a donation of $42,000 from the Friend:
Library and directing an appropriate letter of thanks.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $42,000 to the library for FY I!
The donated funds will be used for the following purposes:
Purchase of library materials $28,000
Purchase of laser printers for public computers 4,000
Support for La Costa Branch children’s programs 4,000
Support for main library children’s programs 6,000
$42,000

RESOLUTION NO. 97-552
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GIFT OF
$42,000 FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad Library have donated $42,000 to
the library, and;
WHEREAS, the library and the Friends have agreed that this donation wi
be used in support of children's programs and for the purchase of library
materials and laser printers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City c
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the gift of $42,000 from the Friends
of the Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby appropriates the:
funds to the Library Gifts and Bequests Account.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Cit)
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 5th day of
