CITY MGR
BIDS FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT
PROJECT NO. 3522
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 9 3- 6 cl approving plans and specifications and authorizing the 1
to advertise for bids for the construction of the Aston Avenue and College Boulevard Trafl
Project No. 3522.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Plans and specifications to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Aston Avenue an
Boulevard have been completed. This signal meets the traffic signal warrants, is number
current traffic signal qualification list and was included in the 1997-1998 CIP for construction.
Design of the traffic signal was performed by a consulting civil engineer selected by staff
consultant selection process.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:
This project is categorically exempt from the environmental review process under the provisis
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and a Notice of Exemption has been issuc

FISCAL IMPACT:
The Engineer’s Estimate for the construction of this project is $90,000. This project will be fu
Public Facility Fees. Funds in the amount of $105,000 have been appropriated and are av

AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE

CONSTRUCTION OF THE ASTON AVENUE AND COLLEGE BOULEVARD

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has determ
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct a traffic signal at the intersec
