RECOMMENDED ACTION:
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Carlsbad Arts Associates, “Friends of the Arts,” support the programs and services of the Carlsbad Arts Office. This past summer the Arts Associates worked hard to raise funds in support of the Arts Office’s TGIF Jazz in the Parks concert series.
A cadre of volunteers led by Elaine Lyttleton put in hundreds of hours of work to collect contributions at all ten concerts. This contribution enables the City to hire quality bands and to provide the extra support services such as a part time stage crew and shuttle buses that are now needed due to increased attendance.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total contribution is $10,500 and will be deposited into the Arts Special Events Fund.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE CARLSBAD ARTS ASSOCIATES
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Arts Office provides “a variety of quality cultural p
including all forms of visual and performing arts, to all Carlsbad residents”; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Carlsbad Arts Associates is to support the prograi
