RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-436, amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code, by the amendment of Section 10.44.250, to establish a 40 mile per hour prima facie
speed limit upon Camino De Las Ondas fiom Brianvood Drive to its intersection with Aviara Pakmy,
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-436 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
December 9, 1997. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE IO, CHAPTER
10.44 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
AMENDMENT OF SECTiON 10.44.250 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA
FACIE 40 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON CAMINO DE
LAS ONDAS FROM BRIARWOOD DRIVE TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH AVIARA PARKWAY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follow
SECTION 1 : That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amend
by the revision of Section 10.44.250 to read as follows:
“10.44.250 Camino de las Ondas:
Upon Camino de las Ondas from Paseo Del Norte to its
intersection with Aviara Parkway, the prima facie speed limit
shall be forty miles per hour.”
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adopti
and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it
be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad wit1
fifteen (15) days af’ter its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on
9th day of December , 1997, and thereafter,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Cou
held on the 16th day of December , 1997 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Nygaard, Kulchin, and Hall
