PUR CITY SEDANS I I I RECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends Council adopt Resolution No. fb?%) , awarding a k for an eight 1998 Ford Taurus sedans to Vince Dixon F~ra In$, ITEM EXPLANATION Eight intermediate sedans were budgeted for purchase this fiscal year. Sevc vehicles replace units which exceed the age and mileage requirements of tl City’s vehicle replacement program. The eighth vehicle is an addition to the fle and will be assigned to the Police Department Detective’s Division. In the past, intermediate sedans have been purchased from the State of Califorr bid. This year the State bid offered only one choice of vehicle in this class whil our departments decided was not an acceptable unit. Discussions between tl Equipment Maintenance Superintendent and departments agreed upon the Fc Taurus as an acceptablevehicle. In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Biddc was published and Requests for Bid were sent to ten vendors. Applying this adjustment, Vince Dixon Ford’s bid is $136,627.4 ie. Therefore the lowest, responsible bidder submitting a responsive bid is Vim Dixon Ford Inc. That the bid of Vince Dixon Ford Inc, 555 Paseo del Norte, Carlsbad, CA hereby accepted. 2. The Purchasing Officer is hereby authorized to execute a Purchase Order fc the purchase of eight Ford Taurus Sedans in the amount of $137,908.: including sales tax.
