RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt7 accepting individual financial donations totaling eight hundred and
forty five ($845) dollars in memory of Tony Rodosta and in support of the Skateboard Park.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Department has received $845 from individual donors in memory of Tony Rodosta
(Exhibit 2). In discussion with the family of the young man, they have requested, and staff
concurs, with contributing these funds towards the development of the skateboard park. During
the February meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission received these donations and
unanimously recommended acceptance by the City Council. Letters of appreciation have been
sent out to all individuals from the Recreation Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Eight Hundred and Forty Five ($845) dollars in cash donations were donated in memory of Tony
Rodosta and will be appropriated towards the skateboard construction account. All donations will
be used towards the development of the Skateboard Park.

RESOLUTION NO. 98-104
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF CASH CONTRIBUTIONS
VALUING A TOTAL OF EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE ($845) DOLLARS IN
SUPPORT OF THE SKATEBOARD PARK.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has received cash
5 II donations valuing Eight Hundred Forty Five ($845) dollars in support of the Skateboard Park;
6 II and
7 WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has recommended acceptance of
8 these donations by the Cii Council; and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept these donations and appropriate the funds
10 towards the construction of the Skateboard Park.
11 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the generosity and support of
12 community and organizations who donated to this project.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
14 California, the following:
15 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
16 2. That the City Council does hereby accept the financial support totaling eight
17 hundred forty fwe dollars ($645).

19 PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
20 City of Carlsbad, California, held on the= day of m, 1998, by the following vote to wit:
