RM BATH0 RECOMMENDED ACTION- q&/O ci, Adopt Resolution No. approving the Compromise and Release which authorizes the payment of $13,000.00 to Pamela Batho. ITEM EXPLANATION The claimant, a former Administrative Secretary in the Library, complained of pain in her right wrist and numbness in her fingers. A medical evaluation determined that Ms. Batho had developed carpal tunnel syndrome and a course of treatment was prescribed. Ms. Batho was declared permanent and stationary on September 18, 1996, with no permanent work restrictions. Her permanent disability rating is based on Ms. Batho’s subjective complaints. The terms and conditions of the proposed settlement are set forth in the Compromise and Release on file in the Risk Management office. The terms and conditions were agreed upon by the attorney representing the claimant and the attorney representing the City, and have been approved by TRISTAR. FISCAL IMPACT The total cost of the settlement is $13,000. There are sufficient funds available in the Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance Fund to cover the cost of this settlement. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the expenditure of $13,000 from the Workers’ Compensation Self- Insurance Fund is authorized for the settlement of said claims. 3.
