Adopt Resolution No. 98* 1 !A*7 accepting a bid and awarding a contract in the amount of $44,650.00
to Gretler Construction Co. for Kruger House ADA Improvements, Contract No. FAC98-3.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On March 24, 1998 City Council approved the contract documents and special provisions and
specifications and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the Kruger House ADA
Improvements. Staffs estimate for this work, including contingency funds, was $42,000.00.
Two bids were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on April 20, 1998. The bids were
$44,650.00 and $59,420.00 submitted by Gretler GC Construction and Lesicka & Joy Construction
respectively. Staff recommends the contract be awarded to Gretler GC Construction Co., the
lowest responsive bidder, in the amount of $44,650.00 in accordance with the terms set forth in
Contract No. FAC98-3. The contractor’s registration and bonds are in order and references are
satisfactory. The estimated total cost of this project, including contingency funds, is $55,650.00.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Adequate budgeted funding is available in the Capital Improvement Program, ADA Mandate - City
Facilities project.

RESOLUTION NO. 98-127
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. FAC98-3
FOR THE KRUGER HOUSE ADA IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad, California for the Kruger
House ADA Improvements in accordance with Contract No. FAC98-3; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received for this project was submitted by Gretler
Construction, Inc. in the amount of $44,650.00; and
WHEREAS, the total estimated cost of this project is $55,650.00, including contingency
funds; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Capital Improvement Program, ADA
Mandate - City Facilities project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as
follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $44,650.00 by Gretler Construction, Inc. for the Kruger House ADA
Improvements, Contract No. FAC98-3 is hereby accepted and the Purchasing
Officer is hereby authorized to execute a purchase order for this project.
3. The Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to execute a
contract for and on behalf of the City of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad at its
regular meeting held on the 5 day of my , 1998, by the following vote, to wit:
