RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 48 -157 accepting the construction of the Olivenhain Road V
Project No. 3466, as complete and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Cc
and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On November 5, 1996, Sierra Pacific West, Inc., was awarded a contract in the a
$1,705,364 for the construction of the Olivenhain Road Widening, Project No. 3466.
Sierra Pacific West, Inc., completed the work on March 27, 1998. City forces have i
said work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance by
Council.
FISCAL IMPACT:
A summary of the project costs to date are as follows:

The actual construction cost was lower than the award amount due to several misci
items of work being deleted from the contract and some bid items being less than
estimated I
The contractor may be submitting claims for delays. Final costs will not be determ
after review of any such claims is completed.

RESOLUTION NO. 98-157
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THE OLIVENHAIN ROAD WIDENING PROJECT NO. 3466 .
WHEREAS, the construction of the Olivenhain Road Widening Project No. :
been satisfactorily completed; and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of (
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of the Olivenhain Road Widening Project No. 3466, is
complete and hereby accepted.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed tc
the Notice of Completion and have same recorded.
4. That bonds will be released in accordance with State Law and City Ordinan
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carts
Council held on the 2nd day of June , 1998 by the following vote, to wi'
